Chiku is the Chief Property Officer and Legal consultant who also founded BOYDS following a particularly unpleasant and frustrating experience looking for a property to rent. Chiku was motivated to start Boyds in order to offer the kind of property service that he took for granted while living in the UK and that he found lacking when he was searching for a property to rent in Blantyre; a service which he believes, other people in the position he was in, as well as property owners and investors deserve.
As the Chief Property Officer, Chiku is the CEO of the company responsible for business strategy, developing and approving new products and services, and growing the business. As the founder of the company, Chiku is inspired to grow the business in order to play a part in creating valuable employment opportunities for qualified and talented youth. As the legal consultant, he is responsible for the provision and supervision of the company’s property legal services and advice. Chiku holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of Malawi and has over 15 years’ post-qualification experience. He has worked in the Registrar General’s department since University rising to becoming Deputy Registrar General. He studied and researched in intellectual property law at the University of Manchester and Queen Mary, University of London in the UK. He can be contacted at
