Property documents such as title deeds, settlement deeds, wills, powers of attorney, contracts and sale agreements, etc, are very important legal documents that need to be stored safely and securely. They also need to be easily accessible and retrievable whenever they are required for any reason including in the event of death of the property owner.

Most people keep their property documents at home. However, keeping important documents at home comes with some risks such as:

• Documents stored in the house are easily lost or misplaced and therefore not available when they are required
• Documents kept at home are exposed to burglary, where a burglar could make away with your documents while taking anything that looks important
• Documents can sometimes be stolen or deliberately hidden away due to sensitive family issues
• Damage as a result of water, humidity, fire, rodents, termites or other accident

To help you avoid these risks and manage your property documents better, at Boyds we offer a property document custodial service under which we keep the originals of your property documents and other valuable documents in a safe and secure storage facility which will be made available to you or your appointed representative, attorney or executor when needed.

This is a fully confidential service and only you or your appointed representative when authorized or upon fulfillment of certain conditions, can access these documents. Your documents will be in a sealed envelope cross- signed by yourself and will only be opened by you or your authorized representative subject to conditions
